Binchotan charcoal is flame-retardant, smokeless, and produces no open flames, making it ideal for both outdoor and indoor use. It heats food with far-infrared radiation. Thicker charcoal pieces burn longer but are harder to ignite. It is recommended to start with small, thin pieces, and once they are glowing red, add medium / large pieces.
The quantity used depends on the size of the barbecue grill. For a small grill for 1-2 people, 1kg can burn for 4-5 hours.
Unburnt charcoal can be placed in a metal box and covered, and it will extinguish due to lack of oxygen; alternatively, it can be soaked in water and reused after drying.
🌲Tips
Charcoal that has been burned once is easier to ignite than new, unused charcoal! Barbecue enthusiasts can light some new charcoal at the end of their event, then put it in a metal box to extinguish, saving it for starting fires at the next barbecue.
🌲 Has the charcoal been stored for too long and gotten damp?
Just take it out and let it sunbathe on a sunny day, and it will be fine! 👍 Remember to seal it in an airtight bag and store it in a dry place after sunning.
